Brad Duguid brings experience, knowledge, and contacts acquired over a 30-year political career involving numerous cabinet posts as well as private sector experience.  He also served for 9 years as a Scarborough/Toronto City Councillor.

After retiring from politics in 2018, Brad worked with Canadian entrepreneurial icon, John Risley.

That works has involved advising numerous CFFI companies in sectors ranging from energy, construction, health tech, clean tech, the marine industry, fisheries, aerospace among others.

As of 2021, while Brad will continue his work with CFFI companies, he will now be branching out to make his services available to companies, organizations and governments across Canada.

Brad’s political career provided him with an unmatched amount of experience in many sectors as he served in seven different cabinet posts including Economic Development; Energy; Infrastructure; Indigenous Affairs; Research and Innovation; Training, Colleges and Universities; and Labour.

Brad’s work involved transforming Ontario’s economic development strategy to compete in the new economy providing him with invaluable knowledge and relationships in Canada’s innovation ecosystem.  In fact, his leadership helped navigate MaRs Discovery District through challenging times enabling it to become the innovation hub that it is today.

His leadership also guided the national effort to draft and implement the new Canada Free Trade Agreement, the most ambitious internal or external free trade agreement in Canadian history.

Perhaps Brad’s most passionate work came during his time as Minister of Aboriginal Affairs where his relationship building skills helped transform Ontario’s relationship with Indigenous Communities making Ontario a national leader on Indigenous issues.  This work enabled Brad to build friendships with Indigenous leaders and communities that continue to this day.
